PsiQuantum is building the world’s first useful quantum computer. We are exclusively targeting an error-corrected machine, and we are building on a foundation of silicon photonic technology, coupled with breakthroughs in quantum architecture. Our team includes world-class engineers and scientists who are working on the entire quantum computing stack, from the photonic and electronic chips, through packaging and control electronics, cryogenic systems, quantum architecture and fault tolerance, to quantum applications. It is our conviction that all commercially useful quantum computing applications require error-correction and therefore at least one million physical qubits. To deliver a fault-tolerant quantum computer on any realistic time or money scale, it needs to be built on a scalable and proven semiconductor manufacturing process.
We have developed unique technology in which single photons (particles of light) are manipulated using complex photonic circuits, patterned onto a silicon chip using standard semiconductor manufacturing techniques. PsiQuantum is already manufacturing quantum photonic chips, as well as the cryogenic CMOS chips needed to control the qubits, using the advanced semiconductor tools in the production line of our manufacturing partners.
